For once, I wake up with something warm inside my chest.

An egg bursts in my hand. “Shit,” I curse under my breath, rinsing it off in the sink.

“Trying.” I smile, nodding to the mess in the sink.

“Here. Let me.”

She takes over, cracking and scrambling the eggs with ease and adding them to a hot pan. Is this what heaven is like? A naked goddess cooking breakfast for me?

“Right, I forgot. You work at a diner.”

“Hey, I’m a waitress, not a cook,” she reminds me. “But my momma taught me my way around a stove. Is there any bacon in there?”

I check the fridge and find a package, which I hand to her. I lean back against the wall, my arms crossed, my cock growing by the second as I watch her move about the kitchen. Christ, she’s beyond gorgeous. And such confidence. By the time she’s plating up our meal, I’m hungry for something else entirely. But I sit down beside her and eat, one hand on my fork, the other possessively on her thigh.
